Cycling in Toronto has changed dramatically over the past four years and much of the credit goes to the team at Cycle Toronto. Thanks to their efforts (and their members), not only have we seen the cycling network of connected and protected bike lanes expand, we have also seen advancement of cycling beyond the downtown core and into neighbourhoods that were previously overlooked. Their Move365 campaign is an excellent example of how cycling advocacy is at work right across the City.
Now as a registered charity, Cycle Toronto is seeking the funds to expand and extend the good work it does. I'm riding to raise money for them because I know that cycling in an urban environment is critical for climate mitigation and we won't get more people on bikes unless they have safe spaces to ride. New cycling infrastructure on Yonge, Bloor, Danforth and University has allowed our family to prioritize active transportation and hopefully as more safe cycling routes are added, others will be able to do the same.
Thank you for supporting me and Cycle Toronto!
